Building a Passive Solar Greenhouse (Timelapse)

Important information on the climate battery: The concept is enormously overrated, please do not install a climate battery into your greenhouse, better build the rest of the house well. A climate battery does not store warmth for winter! I tested it one winter turned on and one turned off - there was no difference. The main thing for staying frost free yearround is to go at least 0,5m below gro...
Amazing! 700 wheel-barrels, that is some serious work. I love it. It would be nice to see what it looks like once the plants mature.
I have not heard about the 'rock powder'. Is it lime, or volcanic dust? Thank you :o)
I'm 6:55 in on the video and disappointed that is going to end in a few seconds...that was beautiful
Dans 3 mois ça seras que des algues 😅

Great work
Thank you very much
Enjoy your hard work!
What a lot of work, but looks to be so very worth it! I'd love a natural pond, but at 72, it's well beyond me to create by hand. The advantages of having the ways and means to create wonderful things while still young! You, your hard work, and lovely creation are amazing!
Thanks so much!
I apologize in advance but I did not understand what hard wood you used to create the wall for the plant area, what is this wood?
I used larch wood :)
is it really natural if you've built it?
Hello I’m thinking of building one myself and was told by one of the pool builder companies that if u use it as a pool and step on it no matter what after a while the EDM plastic will have holes and leak , and that it’s best to do it’s from concrete was wondering if u hade any problems with leaks?
There won`t be leaks if the pond is built properly! That means: a good underliner and overliner and a lot of care during the building process!
Great work and video :)
Thanks so much for the videos! Quick question: I am researching doing this on my homestead but it appears that there is some disagreement on the literature as to whether you should separate urine from feces when composting. Some argue that it is dangerous to combine them and it slows down the composting process, while other sources say it's better to combine them because the urine helps it compost at a higher temperature. Thanks in advance for any advice that you can offer!
It depends on how you process the material afterwards. I seperate it so that I don`t need to empty the bucket so often and in that way there will be no bad smells from the bucket. But as said, it depends on what kind of system you use.
It's beautiful but I'd worry about leptospirosis. I wonder if you can treat the water with something to make it safe.
Great video! Many thanks for the useful information - :)
I have an old pooll which i want to remade for a pond. Do you give an advises? How can i write you directly?
Sounds good. You can contact me here: hallo@bunte-permakultur.at
How much power does the compressor use? Is it on a timer or 24/7?
It is 60 watts. Runs about 10 hours a day
And what was the total cost ?
Total cost was 4500€
Lovely. How do you keep the pond water fresh? Is one small reed enough?
Thanks! The pond gets flooded regularly because the water from the chicken coop is directed into the small pond. So the water gets replaced quite often. Reeds wont work because there is so little space
I love it! Fantastic job mate.
Absolutely incredible effort. Amazing results. Looking to do this myself and you’ve inspired me to just do it. Can’t quite believe you dug it by hand. Incredible!
YES LET`S GO! :)
Just GET TO THE CHOPPER
Hey there, I work in aquatic habitat restoration and I would recommend using eutrosorb products. The products are considered non pesticide by the epa and sequester phosphorous from the water column and sediments. Very proactive non pesticide method of preventing algae blooms. Check it out!
Interesting. I hope I do not need it but I might look into it! Thanks anyway!
Sauber! Danke!
Love it❤
The filtration system is nothing new. I had one in my 55 gal fish tank 25 years ago. It does work splendidly!
Thanks for the Info, I did not know that!
I just love your videos so much Manuel! it is so inspiring to see you your beautiful design how it becomes more and more thriving! My dream is to live in a regenerative village soon, maybe with you and your family as our neighbours ?!
Thanks 😊😊 And yes, maybe! I'd love to share this journey with more people like you!
NEIN! lol.
Like the part with the dolly . Doesn't look like the have a lot of swimming room.
Yes you are right, there is not a huge swimming area. But it is enough :)
Excellent
No thanks. I'll stick with Joe Jenkins method. His book is the "Humanure Handbook". It is the Bible for Humanure composting and we have used his system for 5 years now and wouldn't do it any other way.
Just found this channel. I am thinking of building a smaller scale version of that on my little hobby farm. Mainly to grow crayfish and water source for a hydroponics set up. The air bubbler to move water in the pond and a small sump pump to move water for the hydroponics.
You are my hero!!
Looks great but ain’t natural if needs pump 👍🏻
Can I use this Washington state? Is there smell from the compost pile? My concert is that I don't want to be caught and fined. If there is no smell, no one will know. I also noticed that your area for the compost is not enclosed on one side. Is this on purpose, for ventilation?
Hey there, sorry for the late reply! You can, there won´t be any smell if you use sawdust a flushing material! Yes, the gap is for ventilation so that the building doesn`t overheat in summer.
Great video! I hope that one day when I leave the sailing life I'll make something like this.
What type of cover crop plants do you use?
Waaayyyyy too much work and much too long. First of all: the right way to shit is not sitting BUT SQUATTING (please keep this in mind) Here is the simplest compost toilet solution EVER (perfected over 10 years) : You prepare : cheap and dried out soil and grinded/pulverised charcoal, one cup of beneficial bacteria (EM) You basically shit in a 5 Liter plant pot , which is half full with dry soil then you add charcoal and step-by-step more dry soil till the pot is 3/4 full. The magic is : you have to turn/mix your shit TILL IT IS COMPLETELY MIXED WITH THE SOIL. At this point there is no more shit but only smelly earth. Now you pour in the bacteria and mix again. You can make a ring of this magic „earth“ around trees and you will see how quick and positively they respond in growth. The bottom line is: it is in reality EARTH coming out of your ass. You have to MIX IT BACK YOUR SHIT-EARTH is composted IN A WEEK!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sometimes a couple of days, depends on the mixing ratio… Cheers
Nature is great in it's way bro we really not needed that destruction
It's beutiful but needed?
I don't know about that human compost that must stink
nice job
amazing job
Bravo!
Nice job!
Love the dedication, one question, just curious. How long would the wood last in this situation?
..........uh....i planted a few hostas today and thought i did alot of work....
