Important information on the climate battery: The concept is enormously overrated, please do not install a climate battery into your greenhouse, better build the rest of the house well. A climate battery does not store warmth for winter! I tested it one winter turned on and one turned off - there was no difference. The main thing for staying frost free yearround is to go at least 0,5m below gro...

    What a lot of work, but looks to be so very worth it! I'd love a natural pond, but at 72, it's well beyond me to create by hand. The advantages of having the ways and means to create wonderful things while still young! You, your hard work, and lovely creation are amazing!

    Hello I’m thinking of building one myself and was told by one of the pool builder companies that if u use it as a pool and step on it no matter what after a while the EDM plastic will have holes and leak , and that it’s best to do it’s from concrete was wondering if u hade any problems with leaks?

    • @manuelangerer-permaculture
      @manuelangerer-permaculture 4 дня назад

      There won`t be leaks if the pond is built properly! That means: a good underliner and overliner and a lot of care during the building process!

    Thanks so much for the videos! Quick question: I am researching doing this on my homestead but it appears that there is some disagreement on the literature as to whether you should separate urine from feces when composting. Some argue that it is dangerous to combine them and it slows down the composting process, while other sources say it's better to combine them because the urine helps it compost at a higher temperature. Thanks in advance for any advice that you can offer!

    • @manuelangerer-permaculture
      @manuelangerer-permaculture 4 дня назад

      It depends on how you process the material afterwards. I seperate it so that I don`t need to empty the bucket so often and in that way there will be no bad smells from the bucket. But as said, it depends on what kind of system you use.

    • @manuelangerer-permaculture
      @manuelangerer-permaculture 15 дней назад

      Thanks! The pond gets flooded regularly because the water from the chicken coop is directed into the small pond. So the water gets replaced quite often. Reeds wont work because there is so little space

    Can I use this Washington state? Is there smell from the compost pile? My concert is that I don't want to be caught and fined. If there is no smell, no one will know. I also noticed that your area for the compost is not enclosed on one side. Is this on purpose, for ventilation?

    • @manuelangerer-permaculture
      @manuelangerer-permaculture 4 дня назад

      Hey there, sorry for the late reply! You can, there won´t be any smell if you use sawdust a flushing material! Yes, the gap is for ventilation so that the building doesn`t overheat in summer.

    Waaayyyyy too much work and much too long. First of all: the right way to shit is not sitting BUT SQUATTING (please keep this in mind) Here is the simplest compost toilet solution EVER (perfected over 10 years) : You prepare : cheap and dried out soil and grinded/pulverised charcoal, one cup of beneficial bacteria (EM) You basically shit in a 5 Liter plant pot , which is half full with dry soil then you add charcoal and step-by-step more dry soil till the pot is 3/4 full. The magic is : you have to turn/mix your shit TILL IT IS COMPLETELY MIXED WITH THE SOIL. At this point there is no more shit but only smelly earth. Now you pour in the bacteria and mix again. You can make a ring of this magic „earth“ around trees and you will see how quick and positively they respond in growth. The bottom line is: it is in reality EARTH coming out of your ass. You have to MIX IT BACK YOUR SHIT-EARTH is composted IN A WEEK!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sometimes a couple of days, depends on the mixing ratio… Cheers
